How does Wasyet protect your rights?
There is no deposit on Wasyet: the client funds a milestone before work starts, and Wasyet holds the amount in escrow until the client approves the delivery.
Only then is it released to the freelancer's balance. The client never pays up front for work they have not seen, and the freelancer never works before the money is secured.
What is wrong with deposits?
A deposit asks one side to trust first: the client pays half or all of the amount before seeing anything, or the freelancer delivers on a promise to be paid later. Whoever goes first can lose.
The fix is not a clearer promise but a third party that holds the money: paid before the work, released only after approval. That is escrow on Wasyet.
How does escrow work on Wasyet?
Agree on milestones
The project is split into milestones, each with a dollar amount and a date, or kept as one amount.
Fund the milestone
The client pays the milestone amount through the platform and Wasyet holds it. Milestones are funded in order, one after another.
Do the work and deliver
The freelancer starts once the funding is confirmed and delivers from the project page.
Approve or request a revision
The client reviews the delivery and approves it or asks for changes. The money stays held the whole time.
Release
On approval the milestone amount moves to the freelancer's balance, and the next milestone is funded the same way.
What happens if we disagree?
Try to settle it in the conversation first; the whole project record is there: milestones, deliveries and messages. If you cannot agree, open a support request from the project within 8 business days of the project's completion.
The Wasyet team reviews the record, may ask both sides for information, and then decides, including a full or partial refund to the client. Ending a contract does not refund funded milestones by itself; refunds go through support.
When does the freelancer get the money?
Right after approval the milestone amount moves to your Wasyet balance.
It becomes available to withdraw after a short review period of 8 business days.
You request the withdrawal from the earnings page, currently via PayPal. All amounts are in US dollars.
What does Wasyet charge?
0% commission on the freelancer. One flat fee per project: $12 when the project is worth $500 or less, $25 when it is worth more than $500. The client pays it by default; both sides can agree to deduct it from the freelancer. Payment processing fees are paid by the client, and every fee is shown before payment.
Does escrow cover my own client?
Yes. Create a project on Wasyet and send your client the link. They pay through the platform, the amount is held until you deliver and they approve, and there is no commission. A client can invite a freelancer they know the same way.
Is communication restricted to keep the protection?
No. Communication is direct and unrestricted, sharing a phone number or email is allowed, and you can create a Zoom meeting from the conversation. The protection is in holding the money, not in blocking the conversation.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to pay the freelancer a deposit?
No. You fund only the milestone amount, and Wasyet holds it until you receive the delivery and approve it.
Can the freelancer take the money before delivering?
No. A milestone amount is released to the freelancer's balance only after the client approves.
Can I get a refund?
If you cannot agree, open a support request from the project within 8 business days of its completion. The Wasyet team reviews the record and decides on a full or partial refund.
Is the escrow free?
Commission on the freelancer is 0%, so they receive the full project value. The project fee is flat, shown before payment, and paid by the client by default.
In which currency is the money held?
In US dollars, in both the Arabic and the English interface.
